Hello my name is Cory Eykamp the GG grandson of Gerhard Eykamp. You have him in your family tree. You have his parentage going back 3 generations. Which if accurate I would be very excited to know about. Having always hit a wall betweenhim and Eykamps of previous generations. However you have him being born in Hannover which is acurate but also dying in Hannover. Which is very much false. He came to America in 1880 and had 6 children and died in ogle co. Il. Also hismiddle name on your tree is Janssen. Which happens to be the surname of his wife Galathea. Would love to hear from you. My e-mail is (XXXXX@XXXX.XXX)

Thanks.....Cory"

"... Yes I have similar info on Alderick, as well. I do know the Eykamp's directly related to me from Gerhard on down. Were of the Lutheran faith. Gerhards daughter Edith my Great Aunt. Was a missionary for the Lutheran Church and ran the Stahl school for girls in Gunter India. I have a great deal of Correspondence and and some photos from her time there. Gerhards grandson William (Son of George and Dorthy Eykamp) Whom i've met several times in Ma. Told me that Gerhard'sparents wanted him to remain in the military which he did not. That was one factor in coming to America.

Gerhard commited suicide after they put Galathea in a nursing home. She spent the last 15 years of her life bed ridden due to a broken hip. The house in Maryland station is not far from my home. I've been there many times. He was otherwise in good health could have seen 100. I have lots of pics of Gerhard including one of his military pics. Let me know if you would ever want to see any.

Thanks, Cory"
