Mrs. Dick Welp died at her home east of twon Wednesday night following a long illness. A couple of years ago she suffered a stroke and made fairly good improvement, last winter she had a second stroke and the third and final one came aweek ago, to complicate conditions she developed pneumonia which caused her death. During all the months she has been helpless she has been faithfully cared for by Mr. Welp and any service he could give or any little want he couldsatisfy, was not neglected. The children came often to see their mother and do what they could for her, but on the ones at home fell the responsibility for the greatest care. Mr. Welp was willingly helped by his daughter-in-law,Minnie.

Gepke Willems was born October 3rd, 1867 in Wermer, Oestfriesland, when sixteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran church and has always been a faithful member. When she was 22 years old she was married to Dirk Welp on Oct. 18, 1890. theyoung couple lived in Germany for one year and then moved to the United States, settling at Kamrar, Iowa, where they lived for fourteen years. They then moved to the titonka vicinity which place has since been their home. Mr. and Mrs.Welp were the parents of ten children, four of whom died in infancey. Besides the husband the following children survive: E. D. Welp, Kamrar; Adolph Welp, Kamrar; Ray Welp, Titonka; Fred Welp, Woden; Mrs. Joe Temple, Kamrar, Mrs. HarmGroen, Burt. There are 31 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Welp also has two sisters living, Mrs. F. Timmer and Mrs. John R. Johnson of Lakota, and one half-sister, Mrs. Wm. Kruse of Marathon, Iowa.

Mrs. Welp was quiet and unassuming. She was devoted to her family and served her home faithfully. She was a good and kind-hearted woman. funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at one o'clock at the farm home and two o'clock atthe Lutheran church in Titonka. Rev. A. Killian, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran church, had charge of the services. Burial was made in the church cemetery." <>
