Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2007 at Scandia Lutheran Church inCenterville. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Moore; 4 sons, Scott, Mark, Tom and Michael Moore; brother, Bruce Moore; 2 sisters, Linda Bruns and JoAnn Brown; father-in-law, Floyd Buse. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, South Dakota.Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Wass Funeral Home in Centerville with the family present from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Gordon Lee Moore was born May 19, 1943 in Viborg, SD to Art and Evelyn (Peterson) Moore. Gordon grew up on a farm near Centerville with one brother, Bruce, and two sisters, Linda and JoAnn. Gordy attended first through eighth grade at Mt.Zion Country School and graduated from Centerville High School in 1961. After high school, Gordy farmed with his dad before being drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. He served in the US Army from December 1965 until June 1967. On March 30, 1974 he was united in marriage to Sharon Buse in Davis, SD. To thisunion four boys were born, Scott, Mark, Tom and Michael. The family lived on a farm three miles east of Centerville where Gordy farmed until losing a short battle to cancer. Gordy was involved in many organizations in the surrounding area. He was very active in the American Legion, serving as Legion Commander. He was on the board of Truck Towne and Farmers Elevator in Beresford and was also a member ofLincoln County Livestock Feeders. His hobbies involved fishing with his four sons, attending local sporting events and cooking lutefisk. Gordy also enjoyed growing a large garden and rearranging his duck patterns throughout the yard. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Moore of Centerville; four sons, Scott Moore of Centerville, Mark Moore of Centerville, Tom Moore of Onida and Michael Moore of Sioux Falls; brother, Bruce (Mary) Moore of Beresford; sisters, Linda(Harley) Bruns of Lennox and JoAnn (Steve) Brown of St. Charles, MO; father-in-law, Floyd Buse of Centerville; sister-in-law, Linda Parker of Pittsburgh, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, and his mother-in-law, DelmaBuse preceded him in death. The family requests memorials to the Centerville American Legion." <>
