Charles R. "Bob" HARTLE, 39, R.R. 1, Argos, died at 12:25 a.m. today in St. Joseph hospital at South Bend following an illness of eight weeks.

Born Aug. 24, 1928 in Starke county, he was the son of Charles L. and Clara KEPFFER HARTLE. He had lived in the Argos area three years, moving there from the Monterey area. He was a farmer and a member of the Santa Anna Methodist church west of Argos. He was married Sept. 2, 1949 in South Bend to Signe SMITH.

Surviving with the wife are three sons, Rickey, Steven and Robert [HARTLE], and two daughters, Pamela and Janise [HARTLE], all at home; the father, Charles L. HARTLE, Culver; five brothers, Kenneth [HARTLE], Rochester; Leland [HARTLE], Warsaw; Richard [HARTLE], Culver; James [HARTLE], Plymouth, and Paul [HARTLE], Monterey; four sisters, Mrs. Imogene DEWITT, Lafayette; Mrs. Dorothy YOUNG, Elkhart; Mrs. Joan LOWELL, Niles, Mich, and Mrs. Rosella ROEHOFFER, Rochester.

Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Santa Anna Methodist church with the Rev. Calvin DANIELS officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Leiters Ford. Friends may call at the Easterday-Bonine funeral home in Culver after 7 p.m. Friday until noon Sunday and then at the church.
