MILBANK - Sherry (Mrs. Alvin) Spanton, 53, Milbank, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services will be Wednesday in St. Lawrence Catholic Church at Milbank with the Rev. Ken Lulf officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be her co-workers at State Auto Insurance Company. Active pallbearers will be her brothers and brothers-in-law, Jim Giossi, Bruce Giossi, Allan Giossi, Steve Schull and Mike Johnson.

Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank is in charge of arrangements.

Sherry Ann (Giossi) Spanton was born July 19, 1954, in Milbank. She was the daughter of Raymond and Betty Ann (Hinders) Giossi. She attended school in Milbank.

She married Alvin Lee Spanton Oct. 21, 1978, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She was a life-long resident of Milbank. She was employed as a file clerk for State Auto Insurance for 30 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

She enjoyed her coffee group, camping, reading, cross-stitching and playing cards. She found joy and pride in her grandchildren and could never say "no" to them. Christmas was her favorite holiday.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin of Milbank; three children, Tonya and her husband Rick Klueber of Sioux Falls, Ryan Spanton of Milbank and Amy and her husband Nick Karsky of Milbank; nine grandchildren; her mother, Betty Giossi of Milbank; and eight brothers and sisters, Dorothy and her husband Norval Drewelow of Clinton, Minn., Gene Giossi of Milbank, Allan Giossi of Ohio, Jim and his wife Karen Giossi of Milbank, Cindy and her husband Harlen Jorgenson of Ortonville, Minn., Susan and her husband Mike Johnson of Milbank, Kathy and her husband Doug Winter of Clear Lake and Bruce and his wife June Giossi of Milbank.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond; one brother Kenneth; one grandson Issac; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Alvin, Sr. and Hazel Spanton.
