"FIFTY-SIX YEARS TOGETHER . . . were observed by Mr. and Mrs. Phil Heiman on Friday, November 28 as they marked their wedding anniversary. Phil and Ethel arrived at Timely Mission Nursing Home Thursday, November 20 to take up residencewith other folks there. They came back to Buffalo Center from the Titonka Care Center where they had lived for the past one and one-half years. Prior to moving to Titonka they had been residents of Buffalo Center almost all their marriedlives. Phil and the former Ethel Myers were married on November 28, 1924 in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church by Fr. DeMuth. They are parents of four children; Marlys, Swea City; Donna, Mrs. Cliff Winter of Pine River, Minnesota, and Bobof Oelwein. Their younger daughter, Mary Ann, and her husband, Jack McBride, who lived for many years in Des Moines, are deceased. Also departed from the family circle is their son-in-law, Fred Albers of Swea City. Phil and Ethel have 11grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Phil is a former business man of this community, having owned and operated Heiman Livestock for many years."

"Ethel Heiman, 81

Funeral services for Ethel Heiman, 81, of Buffalo Center were held Saturday morning, August 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Buffalo Center with Father Florian Schmidt officiating.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery with Winter Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Bill Becker, Jim Kiewlet, Arnold Hlppen, Stanley Ventelcher, John Kelso, Jr., and Elmer Lelbrand. Mrs, David Yegge was the organist who accompanied the church choir. Ray Smith served as lector with Mike Vaske, Doug Jamesand Todd Olson as altar boys.

Ethel Heiman, daughter of Bruce and Mary Myers, was born April 6, 1901 in Chenoa, IL. At an early age she moved with her family to a farm near Thompson.

She was married to Phil Heiman November 28, 1924. They lived in Thompson during the early years and then moved to a farm near Buffalo Center. In 1935 the couple moved to town where they have continued to reside.

Ethel was a resident at the Titonka Care Center for I 1/2 years. She and Phil have been living at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center since 1980.

' She was an active member of the Ladies Altar Society and St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Buffalo Center. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Phil; two daughters, Marlys Albers of Swea City and Mrs. Clifford (Donna) Winter of Sherburn, MN; one son, Robert Heiman of Oelwein, 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann MacBride; two sons-in-law, Jack MacBride and Fred Albers; her parents; three brothers and one sister." <>
