Abbrev: Descendants of EDMOND EDMONDS & HANNAH ADDAMS Title: The Descendants of EDMOND EDMONDS & HANNAH ADDAMS of Simsbury, Connecticut Author: Anita Hyatt Davis, compiler (A sixth great-granddaughter) Publication: Published byFAMILY HISTORY PUBLISHERS Bountiful, Utah 2003 Text: PREFACE: [extracts of] An Edmonds book has been a dream of my first cousin, Stuart Lawrence Edmonds, of Midland, Michigan, for many years. His enthusiasm spread as he shared his dreamwith me, and I have enjoyed the r esearch Stuart asked me to do in connection with the book. When ill health beset his family with all its demands, the project had to be put on the 'back burner.' About two and a half years ago, I realized that if the book were to become a reality, it would be up to me to put it together.

One of the most exhilarating projects on which I have ever worked has been compiling the data and writing the Edmonds book. This being a compilation of the family lines of others who share the s ame immigrant ancestor, (Edmond Edmonds,Sr.), I have been thrilled to find distant cousin from all over the United States including Alaska, as well as Canada. What a GREAT family we have! It has been genuinely exciting to get acquainted with so many wonderful family members asthey have rendered their assistance to this work.

APPRECIATION: [extracts of and paraphrased] Jay Robbins of Springfield, MA [Massachusetts]. No known relationship to Edmond Edmonds; mining expert interested in the miners of Simbury, MA.

There were two others who have spent many, many hours gathering and providing data for Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and Barry County, Michigan. I thrilled over the dedication of Celia Hartmann of Carrolton, Ohio, and Daniel Linderman ofHastings, Michigan. With their enthusiasm for the project, they inspired many to submit their family lines to the book.

BIBLIOGRAPHY: As submitters to the book range in ability from novices to professionals, many have not had training in the recording of their sources. We have thus recorded them mainly as received and are grateful for what they sent us. ...
