On 26 May 1958, Evelyn's brother, Eldon was killed in an auto accident, 2 miles outside of Charles City, on his way home from boot camp. Evelyn and Eldon were very, very close and she took his death extremely hard. Evelyn was 6monthspregnant with twin sons at the time, and lost them the following day, 27 May 1958, due to the tremendous grief for the loss of her brother. She never got over his death. -- Kathy M.
