Grietje Trof was born on August 8, 1833 in the village of Wymeer, located in the northwestern part of Germany, about three miles east of the extreme northeastern border of the Netherlands and its province Groningen, daughter of cooper's boss Pieter Reints Trof and Grietje Hemmes Smid [= Smith]. She was baptized on August 8, 1833 at the catholic church of Wymeer. On August 8, 1857 she married on the island of Terschelling, located in the extreem northern part of the Netherlands, at the age of 23 years (and one day) the five years older laborer Gerrit Naber, who was born on Terschelling. Source: scan of their marriage certificate.

Kamrar Settler Dies

Mrs. Greitje Naber, who resided three miles northeast of Kamrar, died Friday at 10 a.m. She was seventy-three years of age and died as the result of an attack of cholera morbus. The funeral was held Monday. Mrs. Naber had resided near Kamrar for many years and was well known, especially among the Germans.

The OFB Wymeer provides Grietje's date of birth, but not her baptism.
