'... I forgot to mention about marriages back in the day. My grandfather lived in Steele Co North Dakota and his spouse lived in Ottertail Co Minnesota.. Not only did those seeking marriage live in the same county they did not even livein the same state. Same with divorces. My grandmother filed from Minnesota in North Dakota but where I have not found it. Makes finding marriage records very hard. Esp with our Slepers living so close to the Minnesota border'

It is possibly, I suppose that an individual is legally divorced on the same date he died, but is sense that the date of divorce given above is an error. - D.A. Navorska - x Jan MMIX - Irving TX <>

'About POWERS, Clarence Sandford

DEATH: Obit: The Lakota American Thursday, Nov 17, 1931 p.#5

Clarence Powers Died Sunday Clarence Powers, 41 years old, a farm hand died at the Wm. Schultz home on Sunday evening. He had suffered for sometime from cancer. Mr Powers was born in Arkansas on June 16, 1891. He is survived by onebrother and a step-mother. He had been employed in this vicinity for manu years and had many friends. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church in Tolna Tuesday afternoon and internment was made in the Tolna Cemetery. Why his sonClarence Samuel Powers was not listed is a mystery, but as his parents had divorced the same year he was born maybe no one in Tolna knew of his existence'

Son, Clarence Samuel Powers, was born in 1924, not 1932. So, did the divorce occur in in 1932 or 1924? 1924 makes more sense. <>
