"JAY A. CORY

Jay A. Cory, 76, of rural Ankeny died of a heart ailment Wednesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elkhart. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery n Elkhart.

Mr Cory was born in Elkhart where he lived until recently moving to Ankeny. He retired in 1984 from Enterprise Farmers Elevator Company Inc. in Elkhart. He wa a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathryn Parkhurst, Mary Plummer and Blanche Barnes, all of Des Moines; two foster sons, Dennis Barton of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Glenn Barton, of Dixon, Mo.; three brothers, Allen and Ralph, both of Elkhart, and Ira of Ankeny, a sister, Blanche Myers of Colfax; 27 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Ankeny Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today."
