"Charlotte E. Lamping, 86

Funeral services for Charlotte E. Lamping, 86, were held Saturday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Buffalo Center. Perry Aalgaard officiated. Organist was Cheryl Baumann. Special music was provided by Rochelle Wickwire. The congregation also sang. Casketbearers were Zachary Lamping, Jeff Freer, Joshua Lamping, Dena Lamping-Gates, Charlotte Lamping-Rangel, William Lamping, John Lamping, Martin Lamping and Jessica Lamping. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery at Buffalo Center. Charlotte passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charlotte Erma Lamping, daughter of Engvil and Hannah (Helland) Jacobson, was born December 6, 1917 at Northwood. She married William F. Lamping on May 31, 1938 in Thompson. She taught country school in Winnebago County before marriage.She was a cook at Witke's Restaurant in Clear Lake for eleven years and at St. Joseph Hospital in Belvidere, Illinois for ten years.

Charlotte enjoyed traveling and making quilts. She also enjoyed flower gardening.

Charlotte is survived by her children: Darrell and his wife, Cindy, Pahrump, Nevada; Keith and his wife, Joni, of Byron, Illinois; Joy Palmieri of Arcadia, California; Karen Freer of Henderson, Nevada; daughter-in-law, Judy Lamping of Cherry Valley, Illinois; Les and his wife, Kathy, of Riverside; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mavis Moklestad, of Des Moines; and by her brother, Clair Nelsrud, of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She waspreceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, in 1995; a son, Gary, and a sister, Leona."
