Car-Train Crash Saturday Fatal To Two

Two Wauseon Persons were killed and two hospitalized in a Car/trainaccident just before midnight Saturday. Dead are: Mrs. Kathleen Verity, 22 and Lawerence J. Clark Jr. 38, both of Wauseon. Corwin Verity, 24, Believed to be the driver ofthe car, was taken to Detwiler Hospital in Critical condition but was reported to be improving this week. Mrs. Yvonne Clark, 24, also was hospitalized with head injuries. The crash took place about three miles east of Wauseon where countyroad F nears the Norfolk and Western switching yards. The eastbound car crashed into the coupling between two diesel units which were being used to make up a freight train, the Sheriff's report said.

The crossing is unmarked except for a reflector warning of the typeerected by the county road department, the sheriff's office said.

Kathleen Virginia Verity, 22, of 420 Ottokee St. Wauseon, was born in Delta Ohio. She has resided in Wauseon for a number of years. Survived by husband, Corwin: son Craig, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs.Durwood Leveck of Weston, OhioGrandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Rowett of St. Petersburg Florida, and Mr. Ralph Baldwin of Swanton; Brothers Doyle and Gary Leveck of Weston Ohio and Donald Leveck of Bell Gardens California; sisters; Mrs. Roberta Robison of Wauseon,Mrs. Phyllis Warncke of Huntington Beach, California, Miss Josephine Leveck of Wauseon, Mrs. Atonia Wolfe of Holland, Mrs Patricia McCance of Deshler, Sandra, Brenda Pamela, Gwendolyn and Jacqueline all of Weston, Ohio. Funeral serviceswill be conducted from the Edgar Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00. P.M. Rev. John V. Moyer officiating Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery."
