"Hilda Limberg

Hildegard "Hilda" Limberg age 90 died Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, [Iowa,] where she's been a resident the past three and a half years. Funeral services were hold Saturday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Services Winter Chapel in Buffalo Center, with Reverend William Peake officiating. Burial was in the Olena Mound Cemetery.

Hilda was born February 16, 1928, in Wiesbaden, Germany, the daughter of Alex and Louise Pilarzyk. She grew up in Germany where she attended school and later met her future husband during World War II.

On October 2, 1948, Hilda was united in marriage to Bennie Limberg in Wiesbanden, Germany. The couple later moved from Germany to the Buffalo Center area where they lived and started their family. In 1965, they became the owners of the Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Buffalo Center. They operated the store until 1989, when they sold the business and retired. Hilda enjoyed family, fishing, sewing, gardening, quilting and cooking.

She is survived by sons, Mark Limberg (Gayle Fowler) of Ankeny; Michael Limberg (Nuri) of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Melanie (Keith) Norland of Pleasant Grove, UT; Tonya Otto of Las Vegas, NV; Holly Limberg (Scott Thomas) of Altoona; Allison (Scott) Lopshire of Iowa City; Brad Dautremont of Phoenix, AZ; seven great-grandchildren. She also has extended family living and deceased in Germany.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bennie Limberg, on December 1, 1991.
