'John Dorenbush was born in Germany in 1855. He married Martha Boyenga in 1881. They came to America four years later and located in Grundy County, Iowa. they moved to Buffalo Center in 1904. Mrs. Dorenbush passed away soon after theymoved into the town of Buffalo Center.

To this union 12 children were born. ... Martin was killed at the age of 21 in an accident in the railroad roundhouse in Manly. ...'
