'... All I know is that my grandfather was born in Akron Ohio. ... I do not know why or when they moved to Coshocton Co. I think there may have been a move when my grandfather was about 10 ... that would have been abt. 1900's...Seems like they moved alot because James and Emma were married in Hamilton Co. Ohio...and it says residence was Dayton for James...can't read what it says for Emma...I have no idea why they would have moved to Akron...and then to Coshocton Co.!! I have a picture of Martha and Emma together when they were both older and Emma died in 1931..(I have a copy of her death Certificate ..)..so I would imagine Martha has to be somewhere in the late 20's yet...???'

'... Carla Todd is my niece ... my father GEORGE WASHINGTON WHITMAN ... was born 2/22/1910 in Akron Ohio died in Holmes Co., Ohio Killbuck on 9/22/82. ... he told me once of when they moved from Akron when he was ten .. and that it took them 5 days with horse and wagon to make their way to Coschocton Co. I believe in a little town called Keene .. I have copies of his death and birth .. His father was JAMES SCOTT WHITMAN ... born in Tuscarawas Co. Uhrichsville on 12/11/1874 ... Mother Martha Walton .. father D. C. Whitman .. James married Emma Wright ... on her marriage certificate to my grandfather it has place of birth Ireland then it has what looks like Thy. and on her fathers name it has what looks like Vey. My father told me her fathers name was Edwin ... I would assume he would know that .. I have their original marriage certificate framed and hanging on my wall .. they were married Aug 28th 1907 in Hamilton Co., Ohio. ... My father alwasy told me she was born in Enniskillin in the county Fermanaugh ... My said [sic] she was born in Dublin ... and the story has it that she stowed away on a ship to get to the US so I have dead ended on her ... I have just discovered in the past year that my Great grandfather had been married twice .. and I knoew that my grandfather James was as is said so on the copy of the marriage certificate .. I just never knew who and if there were any other children ... Jackie (Whitman) Lamp'
