"Publication Date: June 5, 1999 Source: York Daily Record Obituary: YORK - Geraldine W. (Williams) Alwood, 72, of York, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday at Autumn House East in York. She was the wife of the late Donald P. Alwood.

The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Road, Jacobus. Burial will be in Salem Union Cemetery.

Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Alwood was born Aug. 29, 1926 in Jacobus. She was the daughter of the late Fred S. and Lestie (Hengst) Williams.

She retired from Jay's Markets, where she was a bookkeeper, and worked at the former American Chain and Cable Co. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Alwood is survived by a son, Richard A. Alwood of York; a daughter, Patricia A. Couture of Pasadena, Md.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. Richard J. Williams of Hunt Valley, Md.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Charles A. Snyder Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to White Rose Hospice, 2870 Eastern Blvd., York 17402; or to Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Road, Jacobus 17407. Nevin J. Blum"
