It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Norman Frank Bedford, age 75. Norman was a 25 year, retired, Sergeant of the Cleveland Police Department. He passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada surrounded by family on July 28th.

He was born on December 10, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Norman and Elizabeth (Hennings) Bedford and was a lifelong resident of Chippewa Lake, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Army. During a tour in Germany, he met the love of his life, the late Brigitte (Helm) Bedford. Norm was involved in building homes with Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of St Matthews Lutheran Church in Medina, Ohio. Norman was a soldier who did his duty, a devoted Police Officer who proudly served and defended, a faithful husband, a great father to his children and proud grandfather and great-grandfather. Norm believed his greatest accomplishment was when he became a servant for Christ.

Norman is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth Krevat.

He is survived by his three children; Sandra (Randy) Mihalus, Norman (Rhonda) Bedford, Marcus (Steven) Bedford , five grandchildren, Michael (Jenna) Mihalus, Sean (Christine) Mihalus, Dannettia (Dylan) Becker, Danny (Angel) Adams and Blake (Tyfanie) Bedford; seven great-grandchildren Kaylen, Karri, Matthew, Connor Mihalus, Addyson Adams, Zoey and Ceil Bedford.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm for visitation at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 400 N. Broadway St, Medina. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
