WAKEMAN H. S. ATHLETE DIES, ILL FEW DAYS

WAKEMAN -- Robert Frank Ebel, 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Ebel of R D. Wakeman and a Wakeman school football and basketball star died at his home yesterday morning. He had been ill only four days with acute heart condition.

Born in Cleveland, July 21, 1936 he was president of the Sophomore class at Wakeman High School and besides being active in sports was also a member of the school band. He had been selected to play with the Ohio State Band at the State Fair in Columbus in 1951 and this past summer.

Surviving him besides the parents are his father, William J. Frank of Cleveland; two brothers, William Frank Ebel, a student at Case Institute of Technology and Leonard Ebel at home; two sisters, Bonny Belle and Connie Lou at home; hisgrandfather, Jack Hennings of Cleveland, grandparents Mrs. Lela Ebel of Wakeman, and Mr. and Mrs. William G. Frank of Cleveland.

The body is at the L. D. Gerber Funeral Home where friends will be received. Services will be conducted at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Congregational church.

His grandmother, Mrs. Jack Hennings of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday. Services for her are being held at the Saxton Funeral Home in Lakewood on Saturday. Double committal services for the youth and his grandmother will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Cemetery on Columbus road, North Olmstead at 11 a. m. Monday.
