JEAN M. HUYCK, 93, of Macedonia, Ohio, formerly of East Toledo and Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Summit Pointe Retirement Community.

Jean was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 18, 1919 to Vern and Gladys (Gaiman) Shoup.

Jean was a 1937 graduate of Swanton High School. She married the love of her life Tenneson Huyck on September 15, 1938. She worked for the Toledo Plate and Window Glass Company and American Ship Building Company before retiring in 1981. Jean was an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Toledo, Ohio before moving to Macedonia where she became a member of Northfield Presbyterian Church. Jean was an active member of the choirs at both churches. She was involved with the Presbyterian Woman, Eastern Star, and very active in the Summit Pointe Community.

Jean loved to take long walks in the halls at Summit Pointe. Jean's children can remember their father playing the piano as they all stood around and sang their favorite songs together. Jean lived in East Toledo for 50 years before moving to Summit Pointe. In her later years she enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially the Caribbean and Hawaii.

Jean loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Sylvia (George) Hanneken, Richard (Eileen) Huyck, Judy Huyck, Larry Huyck; grandchildren Eric and Russell Hanneken, Nicole (Tom) Richardson, Kevin (Janet) Huyck, Glenn (Hyuna) Huyck, Sheldon (Ji-Hyun) Huyck, Camus Thomas Huyck; great-grandchildren Avery and Randall Huyck, Jesse and Sydney Richardson; sisters Edna Heineman and Mary Hernandez; brother David Shoup; and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tenneson; brothers Wayne and Kenneth Shoup; and sisters, Helen Sterling and Carol Hawley.

Friends may call at the EGGLESTON MEINERT & PAVLEY FUNERAL HOME, OREGON CHAPEL, 440 S. COY ROAD, OREGON, OH 43616 ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10, 2013 FROM 4-8 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Swanton Cemetery.
