'Private funeral services were held for Major Frickson, 72, a [sic] Westby, MT, resident and oilfield pumper. He died May 2 at Mercy Hospital in Williston, ND.:

'Born August 18,1919 in Twin Brooks, he was the son of Peter and Maggie (Green) Frickson. From 1942 to 1946 he served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II. He married Rose Smith of Milbank on August 11, 1946 at Odessa,MN.'

'In 1952 they moved to Montana, where he started working in the oilfields, work that continued until his death. One of Major's favorite pastimes was fishing and making fishing lures. The highlight of his summers was to take hisgrandchildren fishing & camping, often at Lake Besnard in Saskatchewan. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, his friends, or to anyone in need.'

'He is survived by his wife, Rose, of Westby and by two daughters, Teresa, and her husband, Clifford Johnson, and Sandra, and her husband, Brian Elm, all of Westby, and four grandchildren & a great grandson. He is also survived by abrother, Ernie, and hiis wife, Bette, of Milbank, and by several nephews and nieces.'
