LifeSketch: MOTHER FORSAKES NINE CHILDREN. Application for a divorce was made by Frank Moore against his wife Lilly Moore in 1916. Frank and Lily married in 1897 in Whangaroa. There were nine children of the marriage. They lived together until 1912, when he went to a job in Whangape. Lily refused to live there, and she stayed with the children in Tangowahine. After Frank had been in Whangape for some time he received an anonymous letter regarding his wife and Richard Powell. A fortnight later Lily sent the children to Frank, except the youngest. The eldest child handed him an envelope, which contained the mother's wedding ring. Lily married Richard Powell once the divorce was absolute in 1916. However she married again in 1934 and she died in 1938.
