Notes about George Lewis Bowen

I don't know much about my Great-grandfather, but I recently heard a story that I just loved.
When Marge & Mac were getting ready to celebrate Mike's first Christmas, Mac went out on Christmas Eve night to get the tree (as was the tradition at that time - in addition to the gifts, Santa also brought the tree). About 3 hours later, he came home with the terrible news: there just weren’t any trees available, anywhere. So marge called her Dad, almost in tears, and said "Dad, I don’t know what to do...it's Mike's first Christmas and we can't find a tree anywhere!" Being a resourceful fellow, George just said "don't worry about it, I'll get you a tree. See you soon."
About an hour later George came over with "the most beautiful Christmas Tree I've ever seen". Actually, Marge now describes is as a true "Charlie Brown Tree", but at that time, it was a Christmas miracle for her & Mac, and was just as beautiful. When she asked where in the world he found it, he would just change the subject. So Mike had a tree for his first Christmas, and everything was perfect.
A couple of months later, he and Mac were talking, and Mac casually asked, "So where did you come up with that Christmas tree?". George said "Oh, a friend and I went over to the cemetery and chopped it down.”.
