Patrick Montague was born in the townland of Altcloghfin, Errigal Keerogue/Kieran Parish, in County Tyrone, Ireland.

Emigrated to U.S. Lived in Providence, RI, around 1889. Later, he moved to Philadelphia. Married Mary McSorley, of Roscavey, County Tyrone. They married at St. Joseph's Church, Providence, RI in 1892. Patrick started a drayage goods business, transporting goods around Philadelphia.

Two children: Mary "Abbie" Montague McGarrity & Edward Montague.

The family moved back to County Tyrone in 1908 following the death of Patrick's father Edward in 1907. Patrick inherited the family farm in Altcloghfin that was originally leased by his great-grandfather Edward Taigue in 1813.

His parents are Edward Montague and Sarah Campbell are also buried in this Beragh family plot.

After Patrick's death in Tyrone, his wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter emigrated to the U.S. Son Edward had moved to the U.S. earlier.
