De heer J.L. Kroymans legde begin vorige eeuw de basis voor de huidige Kroymans Corporation. In Amsterdam richtte hij het bedrijf Kroymans instruments op, het was gespecialiseerd in de verkoop van auto's. Kroymans vestigde zich in 1917 in Hilversum, daar vertegenwoordigde hij de merken Spyker, DKW, Fiat en Adler. Nadat zijn kleinzoon Frits J. Kroymans in 1962 in de zaak kwam, groeide deze snel. Er werden dealerschappen verkregen voor Jaguar, Simca, Rover en Daimler. In 1972 werd Kroymans ook aangesteld als officiëel importeur voor Ferrari in Nederland.
