PUBLISHED in Pueblo Chieftain, Pueblo, Colorado, March 2, 2017:Elgart (nee Abner), YvetteYvette Elgart (nee Abner) of Pueblo, Colo., died at the age of 93. She was born on Oct. 11, 1923, in New Orleans, La., to Michael and Jessie Abner. She attended Centennial High and graduated in 1942. Yvette was married to Paul Elgart in 1948. Yvette worked at the family stores: House of Brides, Yard Stick, Michael's Men's Store, Smart Shop and Besse's Shop. She then worked at CF&I from 1967 to 1990, where she retired as secretary to the controller. Yvette was a volunteer for El Pueblo Boys and Girls Ranch. She was an avid bridge and Mah Jongg player for many years. Yvette was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; parents; sister, Tana Lipton; brother-in-law, Sid Elgart; and sister/ brother-in-law, Eleanor and Oscar Epley; cousin, Bob Davine; and lifelong friend, Bonnie Borinsky. Survivors include daughters, Irene I. Elgart (Mickey Moore) and Candace E. Elgart. Also surviving are sister, Mae Jane Carmel, Pueblo; sister-in-law, Jackie Elgart, Palm Springs, Calif.; cousins, Fred (Maxine) Davine, Jackie Davine. Yvette also is survived by grandchildren, Zachary (Robin) Elgart, Houston, Texas, Aaron Elgart, New York, N.Y., Greg (Connie) Moore, Amy (Brian) Thielemier, Chuck (Vickie) Moore; great-grandchildren, Nick, David, Tyler, Cooper, Alex, Megan and Sam, all of Pueblo. She also is survived by nieces and nephews, Geoff (Banba) Lipton, Robin Lipton, Allison Lipton (Jonathan Hughes), Steve (Jerri) Carmel, Mark (Mary) Carmel, Craig Carmel (Butch Curtis), Michael Elgart (Masha Vitali), Ron Elgart; great-nieces and nephews, Emma Lipton, Michael and Jeremy Lipton, Jeannette Carmel, Adam and Bryan Carmel, Brendon and Wyatt Curtis; and five great-great-nieces. Also survived by lifelong friends, Melanie (Borinsky) Osterman, Cheri (Borinsky) Zanotelli, Barbi (Borinsky) Ianne, Anna Guerrero, Ginny and Ed Berry and Elaine and Severin Swensen. Many thanks to the entire staff of Chateau at Sharmar. Service, 2 p.m. today, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel. Interment, B'Nai Jacob Cemetery. Reception to follow at Montgomery & Steward Banquet Hall. Family kindly requests no food or flowers.
