      Jan II de Goede (Château de Gué-de-Maulin, 16 april 1319 - Londen, 8 april 1364) was koning van Frankrijk van 1350 tot 1364. Hij werd, zoals de meeste Franse koningen, gekroond in de kathedraal van Reims. Hij was de zoon van Filips VI van Valois (1293 - 22 augustus 1350) en Johanna van Bourgondië.

      Jan II was onder zijn tijdgenoten in aanzien omdat hij zich zozeer met de erecode van de ridderlijkheid vereenzelvigde. Tegelijkertijd was hij een volkomen onbekwaam legeraanvoerder, bestuurder en politicus. Zijn regering is dan ook rampzalig verlopen
