      Casimir (of Kazimierz) I van Polen, bijg. de Restaurator (25 juli 1016 - 28 november 1058) was een zoon van Mieszko II Lambert en van Richeza van Lotharingen. Na de dood van zijn vader, diende Casimir naar Hongarije te vluchten. Pas met de hulp van Hendrik III en Jaroslav I de Wijze van Kiev, slaagde hij er in zijn gezag in Polen te vestigen. Casimir maakte van Krakau de hoofdstad van Polen en slaagde er in een deel van de vroegere macht van de koning van Polen te herstellen. Casimir was in 1041(?) gehuwd met Dobronega Maria (-1087), dochter van Vladimir van Kiev, en werd de vader van:
      - Swatawa (-1126), gehuwd met Vratislav II van Bohemen (-1092)
      - Boleslaw II (1042-1083)
      - Wladislaus I Herman (1043-1102)
      - Mieszko (1045-1065)
      - Otto.
