Notes about Sophia van Rheineck

Voor het eerst vermeld bij de inwijding van de nieuwe abdijkerk vanEgmond (07-10-1143). Ze was een zeer religieuze vrouw die tal vanschenkingen deed aan kerkelijke instellingen. Ze ondernam eenpelgrimstocht naar Santiago de Compostela en herhaaldelijke pelgrimagesnaar Jeruzalem (vermoedelijk samen met haar echtgenoot in 1139), zekerechter als weduwe in 1173 en in 1176 (bron: 'Karel de Grote (I)', GensNostra XLV (1990) 10-11 (oktober-november) 375).
