Jan Rochusse huwd Maatje Jans uit Den Bommel; zij bleven daar wonen.
Hun eerste dochter, Liesbeth is in Den Bommel blijven wonen; de tweede dochter noemden ze Neeltje (1766), deze heeft maar kort geleefd, zodat ze twee jaar later hun derde dochter weer Neeltje noemden.
Daarna wordt de stamhouder, Jan Wolfert (1771), geboren en later nog een zoon Kobus.
Waarschijnlijk zijn alle kinderen in Den Bommel blijven wonen, behalve Jan, die trok de wijde wereld in op zoek naar zijn geluk en vond dat in Zeeland. Hij ontmoet in St.Annaland een Zeeuwse schone met de naam Elisabeth Bergers, waar hij op 27-04-1794 mee trouwt.
