vernoemd naar zijn oom Antonius Johannes Mesman (1885-1918)?
bankwerker bij de Verenigde Blik Fabriek Bekkers in Dordrecht, Bakoven de Boer, Straatman.

Hij ontliep in de oorlog aanvankelijk de verplichte Arbeits-einsetz, maar werd bij een razzia van de straat geplukt en meegenomen. Hij moest toen werken in Hamburg, waar hij werd bevrijd door de Russen. Hij werd fan van Hamburger Sport Verein, HSV of HSFau, vooral bekend om het voetbal.
Toon voetbalde tot 40e bij Geluksvogels in Dordrecht. Ging vaak naar Koffie Klaar van Keekum.

Een stille man, die veel optrok met Adriaan Schrijver, de halfbroer van Maaike Blom. Ze waren leeftijdgenoten.
Het jonge gezin woonde tot half 1953 in de Martinus Steijnstraat 31 zwart. In dat jaar verhuisd naar de nieuwe wijk Vogelwijk, Kokmeeuwstraat 48.

Toon werkte bij Lips, Verblifa, Bakovenbouw Boer en Machine- en Ketelfabriek Straatman aan de Kuipershaven. Het al leegstaande gebouw blijft intact in andere vorm met oog op historie.
Het schroevendok in de Wolwevershaven is beeldbepalend in het historisch havengebied van Dordrecht en een van de meest gefotografeerde monumenten in de binnenstad. Het werd gebruikt om scheepsschroeven en roeren te repareren en te vervangen, door schepen deels uit het water te lichten. Het dok werd gebouwd in 1928 en tot 1996 gebruikt door machinefabriek L. Straatman Ketelmakerij. Het dok werd overgedragen aan de Stichting Schroevendok Straatman, die het dok onderhield met de opbrengsten vande verhuur. In 2002 werd de scheepslift uitgeroepen tot industrieel rijksmonument.

De broers incl. Toon zaten op de R.K. school Wijnstraat hoek Schrijverstraat. Op de andere hoek was de Kath. Kerk (nu een Disco). De school was verdeeld in beneden de rijke kinderen en boven de arme kinderen. Ze kregen eten op school en ook weleensnieuwe klompen.
