    De verdeling van Pieter's nalatenschap vond plaats op zaterdag 30-6-1792 om 10.00 uur v.m.: hij bezat o.m. 35 morgen en 114 roe land en zijn "Boel" werd bij blinde loting verdeeld. Uit de op hem betrekking hebbende akten is m.i. de interessantste:
    In die van 4-11-1789 compareerde voor Schout en Schepenen van Numansdorp Ariaantje Riemslagh, weduwe van Pieter Kappeteijn, wonende in Numanspolder en buiten gemeenschap van goederen getrouwd geweest. Ende bekende zij comparante (onder afstand, voor zooveel verstaan zoude kunnen hierinne een borgtogt plaats te hebben, van het Benefitium Senatus Consulti Vellijani mede brengende dat vrouwen, voor een ander borge geworden zijnde, niet en hoeft te betalen)., wel en deugdelijk schuldig te wezen aan en ten behoeve van Jacob Pietersz Kappelteijn, Johanna Kappeteijn, wonende onder Numansdorp en Gilles van der Sluijs, getrouwd met Maria Kappeteijn, wonende onder Mijnsheerenland, te samen meerderjarig, en nog aan denzelve Gillis van der Sluijs, Klaas Schelling en Johannes van der Linden, in qualiteit als bij de Weeskamer alhier aangestelde voogden over de minderjarige kinderen en arffgenamen ab intestato van wijlen hun vader, de somma van Drie Duijsend zevenhinder agt en 't Negentigh guldens uit hoofde van de ten haaren behoeven overgenomen te hebben, van alle meubilaire, havelijke (levende have), bouw, molkgereedschappen en andere goederen, alsmede het beploegen, slegten en versaajen van veldgewassen in den najaare 1789 en deezen voorjaare 1790 op de landerijen behoorende tot de woningh nu in huure bij haar comparante.
    Zij verklaard de schuld in drie termijnen te willen betalen, de eerste termijn groot f 1.266.0.0, halff meij 1790, de tweede en derde respectievelijk halff december off uiterlijk Kersmis en den 1e April 1791.

    Een akte van 15-4-1790 behelst een overeenkomst, die wij nu een ruilverkaveling zouden noemen, en wel tussen predikant Jurianus Albertus van Luinen Hubert en vier kerkeraadsleden van Numansdorp ten eenre en de meerderjarige (Jacob, Aart, Maria en Johanna) en minderjarige (Trijntje, Johannes en Lena) kinderen van wijlen Pieter Kappeteijn ter andere zijde. Er werd overeengekomen, dat de landerijen van beide partijen door het leggen van een lijnregte sloot in twee grote kavels zouden worden verdeeld, en dat de kosten van het graven van de Scheijd oft buursloot bij elk halff gedragen en geleden en alzoo onderhouden zal worden, gelijk mede de kosten van metingh en cavelingh, het schrijven dezes en dubbelden van dien en van de Acte van Taxatie.
