<p><span>DEATH OF PETER JACOBSMAPeter Jacobsma died at his home in Rock Valley Monday afternoon. Mr. Jacobsma had not been well for some time past. Last winter he felt and injured himself severely. A few weeks ago he injured his hand and blood poisoning developed which caused his death. Mr. Jacobsma was a man who was highly respected by all who knew him, and he had many friends in Rock Valley and other places where he had lived.He was born on June 14, 1863, and had attained the age of 69 years, 4 months and 17 days. At the age of eighteen years he came with his parents to this country. They located near Orange City, where he lived for some time. In March 1889, he was united in marriage with Kate Kasma. Four children were born to them. One died thirty-four years ago. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter, Robert and Bert and Mrs. Joe Groeneweg, all living in the Rock Valley vicinity. He also leaves four brothers, Robert and Henry of Orange City, John of Hospers and Simon of Sibley; lowa, and fourteen grandchildren.After his marriage he lived on farms in different parts of Sioux county. He and his wife retired from the farm twelve years ago when they moved to Rock Valley, where they lived since.Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Christian Reformed church, and the remains were taken to Orange City for burial. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of many friends.</span></p>
