Notes about Berit Jørgensdatter Løvseth

Erik Jonsen Stene, gift med Berit Jørgensdatter Løvset, var arving til Stene Ner-Sjurstu etter sin far, men byttet med sin svoger Jon Jø;rgensen Løvset, og overtok Løvset.
Den 28. juni 1864, fikk Erik Jonsen skjøte på gården fra Jørgen Monsen Løvset.
Erik ble dessverre ikke noengammel mann. Han døde allerede i 1871 ved en drukningsulykke. Han red tjenestehesten ut i sjøen for å vaske den, og hesten la på svøm og Erik kom under den og druknet.
Det sies at kona Berit, ble syk av denne opplevelsen og døde selv måneden etter Erik, den 29. juli 1871.

Begge i en alder av 35 år. De etterlot seg to barn, Karen, f. 1864 og Lars, f. 1868.
Ett tredje barn, Berit Eriksdatter, f. 1866, døde bare tre år gammel i 1869.
