Alice Richards, daughter of Edward Joseph Richards and Phoebe Rosilla Barrington, was born in Kimball, SD on June 16, 1884.

She was married to Johann Henrich Franciscus (Henry)Lackmann in St. Boniface Catholic church in Menominee, NE on Aug. 24, 1909. Henry was the son of Wilhelm Lackmann and Theresia Bonn Wenneman.

They had nine children, including twin sons. One of the twins, Orville, died at the age of 15. Henry died at Belle Fourche, SD on Oct. 13, 1944.

Alice suffered from Lou Gehrig's disease or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in later years. She died on Mar. 17, 1947. Interment in Pineslope cemetery, Belle Fourche, SD
