    WILLMAR -- Sadie M. Miner, 89, of Willmar, died Saturday at Bethesda Heritage Center in Willmar after an extended illness with cancer.

    The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christian Reformed Church in Willmar. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and one hour prior to service at the church.

    Memorials preferred to Rice Hospice.

    She was born May 15, 1918, in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, to Heine and Tryntje (Marcus) Medema. She was raised in Holland Township where she attended country school through the 8th before moving to Minneapolis where she attended and graduated from West High School in 1950. She then attended Willmar Business School.

    On Dec. 28, 1951, she married Donald C. Miner in Willmar. Following their marriage, they lived in Willmar except for two years they lived on a farm near Prinsburg. She worked for various businesses and retired from HiWay Furniture, where she had worked 12 years.

    She was a volunteer for 10 years at Salvation Army. She was a member of Willmar Christian Reformed Church.

    She is survived by her sons: Calvin (and Diane) Miner of Willmar, Harvey (and Donna) Miner of Milbank, SD., and Arvin (and Julie) Miner of Forest Lake; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister: Tena Waterman of Prinsburg; and brother: Dirk Medema of Willmar.

    She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and one brother.
