    PRINSBURG -- Henry Everett "Hank" Medema, 91, of Willmar, formerly of Prinsburg, died Monday at Infinia Care Center in Willmar.

    The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg. Burial will be at Holland Township Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Willmar Veterans of Foreign Wars and Willmar American Legion.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Tri-County Funeral Home in Prinsburg and for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

    He was born May 31, 1915, in Holland Township, Kandiyohi County, to Heine and Trientje (Marcus) Medema. He grew up in the Prinsburg community, attended country school and later the Prinsburg Christian School. He worked for Duininck Bros. Construction. He served in the U.S. Army in the engineer division from 1941 to 1945 during World War II in Europe and North Africa. He was burned and nearly electrocuted in May of 1943 in North Africa.

    He married Gertrude Huisman on Dec. 28, 1955, in Grand Rapids, Mich. They returned to the Prinsburg area and farmed in Holland Township. He later worked again for Duininck Bros. and most recently worked for the Prinsburg Co-op Elevator and fertilizer plant. He moved to Infinia Care Center in Willmar in 2003.

    He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Prinsburg.

    He is survived by three siblings: Sadie Miner of Willmar, Tena Waterman of Prinsburg and Dirk Medema of Willmar.

    He was preceded in death by his wife.
