Martha Margaretha vluchtte samen met haar vriend Frits van Steenderen naar Frankrijk in de zomer van 1942. Het stel werd in de buurt van Tours gearresteerd. Volgens Le Memorial de la deportation des juifs de France werd Martha Calff op 30 mei 1944 op transport gezet van Drancy naar Auschwitz. Verder gegevens over haar zijn niet bekend. Frits, de biologische vader van hun buiten echt geboren zoon Alex, overleefde de oorlog.
