Simon is gevlucht naar en onder huisarrest geplaatst in Lacaune-les-Bains waar tussen 1942 en 1944 zo'n 618 Joden uit de regio van Luchon, Pau en Toulouse bijeen werden gebracht.
Er vinden twee razzia's plaats: op 26 augustus 1942, waarbij 89 Joden worden opgepakt en op 20 februari 1943, waarbij 29 Joden weggevoerd worden.
Onder de laatsten bevindt zich Simon Calff. Na een korte internering in kamp Gurs wordt Simon Calff op 4 maart 1943 vanuit Drancy naar Majdanek (PL) gedeporteerd. Het Mémorial de la Shoah vermeldt ten onrechte: Sobibór (PL).

De gemeente Berchem (Antwerpen) België heeft op 23 juli 1962 een overlijdensakte opgemaakt waarin wordt aangegeven dat Simon Calff in Auschwitz is omgekomen.

Het Joods Monument baseert haar gegevens op officiële documenten en heeft derhalve Auschwitz als overlijdensplaats vermeld.
