Notes about Susannah LITHELL

South Australian Marriage records show that Susan LYTHEL, aged 19 years, married John JONES aged 28 years, on 14th December, 1849 at the Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide. On 27th April, 1854, Susan JONES, aged 23 years married Richard HAMMANT aged 27 years, at St Paul's Church, Adelaide.

OBITUARY
Death at an early hour yesterday morning, at the residence of her daughter (Mrs A. Thefs), removed from our midst an old identity of the community, in the person of Mrs R. Hammant. The deceased, who had almost reached her 90th birthday, was a native of Cambridge (England), and came out to Australia, a girl of nine years, about 81 years ago in the ship "Barboss". She landed at Port Adelaide, and resided in Adelaide for some years where she married, and subsequently came on to Brisbane and made her residence, with her husband and family, in the Logan district. Fifty-four years ago they arrived in Maryborough and the deceased had since resided here, her husband predeceasing her 24 years ago. The late Mrs Hammant is survived by two sons and three daughters, who have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their bereavement. The family comprises Messrs Walter (Maryborough), and Alf Hammant (Many Peaks), Mesdames M. Daniel, A. Thefs and A. Charteris (Maryborough). There are also 17 grand-children and four great-grandchildren. The funeral, which will be of a private nature, will leave the residence of deceased's daughter (Mrs A. Thefs), March Street, at 10.30 o'clock this morning for the Maryborough Cemetery.
