Bartholomeus Baltemits Dobzewics / Dopkewits / Dobscheweijt werd geboren rond 1630 in Dobkowice (Polen), hij belandt rond 1649 in Friesland.
Hij is overleden in het jaar 1708 in Franeker. Hij was 77-78 jaar oud.
Hij is dan student in Franeker. In het Album Studiosorum Academiae Franekerensis, het inschrijvingsregister van de Franeker universiteit, vinden we dat in 1649 hij als student nr 4839 is ingeschreven voor de studie rechten als Bartholomaeus Bohem, Regiomontanus Iur. [1][2] In die tijd stonden er veel Poolse hoogleraren aan de Hogeschool aldaar, en daardoor was Franeker met name in trek bij Poolse studenten. Waarschijnlijk is deze Bartholomeus de vader van Hieronimus Baltemewitz De jongste zoon van Hieronimus, Dieter, trekt weg uit Beetsterzwaag / Drachten en gaat naar Heeg. Hij behoudt de familienaam Dopschewijt.
