Hij is wever, spinner, koopman; leraar der doopsgezinden van Twen the, als zodanig verkozen 1696; oudste bij de Groninger Oude Vlamingen, als zodanig verkozen in 1710, in welke kwaliteit hij in 1719 de geloofsgenoten in Polen bezocht (zie eerder; afb. 4 & 5). Hij woonde te Zenderen in de Paschenswoning (tevens vermaning, afb. 3), de laatste twee jaar van zijn leven bij zijn dochter Jenneken te Borne. Het echtpaar had een talrijk nageslacht.
