Hij is wever, spinner, handelaar, eigenaar van althans een gedeelte van de Paschenswoning (afb. 3); waarschijnlijk bezitter van een waardeel in de marke, omdat hij in de markevergadering optreedt als een der buren; misschien markeschrijver; vermeld als getuige bij de verkoop van landerijen; leraar van de doopsgezinden van Twenthe; vertegenwoordiger van Borne ter sociëteitsvergadering van 13 mei 1683 te Groningen. Het echtpaar had volgens Blaupot ten Cate tien kinderen, waarvan ik de dochters niet heb kunnen identificeren. Het gezin leidde een ruim landelijk bestaan. De uit twee met elkaar verbonden gebouwen bestaande Paschenswoning diende tevens als vermaning.
