2. Who is the Father of Robert and Alexander? The birth records for Robert and Alexander show that their biological father is David Simpson and their mother is Elizabeth Stein. Alexander's marriage and death records show that his father is Robert Simpson, David's younger brother. The family's 1841 census record also shows Robert Snr as the father of both Robert Jnr and Alexander. The evidence suggests that David probably died between February and June 1841, and that Robert married David's widow and adopted his two sons. It is likely that David died at or near Cameron, Fife.
