Het schip waarop Engelse soldaten meevoeren voer op de Nieuwe Waterweg op een magnetische mijn. Veel bemanningsleden kwamen hierbij om het leven. Johnnie Harincks lichaam werd gevonden op 14 juni toen het voorschip werd geborgen. Johnnie was geboren in Vlissingen en getrouwd met een Vlissingse. Omdat hij bij het loodswezen ging werken verhuisde hij en zijn vrouw naar Maassluis. Na zijn dood verhuisde zijn vrouw die 3 maanden zwanger was weer terug naar Zeeland. Harinck's dochtertje werd een half jaar later geboren in Oostkapelle.
