    Derk Jans Surick is afkomstig uit Groningen en zal een zoon zijn van Jan Dercks Suirinck, GAG Weeskamerarchief 1709-1744. Derk overlijdt voor 24 januari 1750. Hij is bakker op 't Waar, bij de molen, en lidmaat der doopsgezinde gemeente Noordbroek - Nieuw-Scheemda in 1749. Derk wordt getrouwd op 1 juli 1708 in "de manistenkerk" door Peter Botterman, vermaner der Verenigde Vlaamse en Waterlandse gemeente te Groningen, ondertrouw op 9 juni 1708 in Groningen, met Sijecke Gosses Heijema, geboortig van Midwolda. Ze heeft als zuster Fenje Gosses, getrouwd met Jan Berents, en als neef, Hindrick Dercks, als nicht Meijske Luppes, getrouwd met Aijso Eebels. Sijecke overlijdt na 3 mei 1763.

    Derck Jans, bakker op 't Waar, trouwt in 1708 met Sijecke Gosses Heijema. Hij komt voor op een lidmatenlijst van de doopsgezinde gemeente Noordbroek - Nieuw-Scheemda van 1749.
