    Bij zijn inschrijving als student in Groningen op 22 september 1652 staat "Henricus Rhodius, Omlandus, Phil." Dat wil dus zeggen, dat hij uit de Ommelanden kwam (en niet uit de stad).

    Bij zijn huwelijk in 1659 was hij kandidaat. Henricus Rhodius was predikant te Garmerwolde van 1663 tot aan zijn overlijden in 1679/1680.

    1663-1679: Predikant te Garmerwolde. Vrij wonen, tractement: 150 car.gl. van de provincie, 250 car.gld. 10 st van de kerkvoogdij, 15 gld. van het Pepergasthuis en de opbrengst van 36 grazen.

    In 1672, "in die bedroefde tijt doe Vranckrijk met de bisschoppen van Straetsburgh, Cöln en Munster ons so benouden, dat se ons drie geheele provinciën binnen een maent tijts hebben afgenomen", toen is, zo schrijft pastor Henricus Rhodius (R.A. D.T.B.) "onses H. Nachtmael, dat op den 23 Juny voor d' 1 mael gecondigt waer, maer door de wreede belegeringe van onse stadt Groningen waer opgeschort, 15 Sept. 1672 geholden". Nood breekt wet, want volgens de Ommelander kerkenorde moest alle drie maanden "dat Avontmael wtgedeelet worden".
