    Sientje van Houten (Groningen, 23 december 1834 - Den Haag, 20 maart 1909) was een Nederlandse kunstschilderes. Zij werd in december 1834 in Groningen geboren als oudste van zeven kinderen van Derk van Houten en Barbara Elisabeth Meihuizen. Een van haar broers was de latere minister Samuel van Houten. Haar vader had een grote houtzaagmolen aan het Damsterdiep. Ze huwde op 23 april 1856 te Groningen met de effectenhandelaar Hendrik Willem Mesdag, de latere Nederlandse marineschilder van de Haagse School.

    Sientje van Houten, geboren te Groningen op 23 december 1834, overleden te 's-Gravenhage op 20 maart 1909, getrouwd te Groningen op 23 april 1856 met Hendrik Willem Mesdag, geboren op 23 februari 1831, kunstschilder te 's-Gravenhage, overleden aldaar op 10 juli 1915.
