    Johan Gaikinga, hoofdeling te Zuidhorn (1540), tr. Abele Lewe, dochter van Harmen Lewe.

    Evenals zijn broer Frederik Allards Gaykema woonde hij op de Jellemaborg te Zuidhorn.

    Zijn broer Johan Gaikinga is vanaf circa 1530 hoofdeling aldaar, welke titel na hem door zijn zoon Allert gevoerd wordt.

    Het vijfde en jongste kind van Allert Gaikinga, Johan, zette het geslacht voort. Hij wordt als hoofdeling te Zuidhorn vermeld vanaf omstreeks 1530, was grietman van Langewold en huwde Abele Lewe, dochter van Harmen Lewe. Hun zoon Allert huwde in 1548 Eweke Clant (dochter van Doeke Clant en Beteke Jensema), die hem het huis Ter Borg in Warfhuizen aanbracht, en ook hun kinderen huwden meest binnen de Ommelander adel.
