Regionaal VVD-kopstuk Hans Gerretsen uit Soest is maandagmorgen onverwacht op 65-jarige leetijd aan een hartaanval overleden. De laatste jaren hied hij zich ook bezig met lokaal radio maken voor RTV Soest. Gerretsen was al meer dan 25 jaar bestuurlijk actief voor de partij. Zo was hij ondermeer van 2002 tot 2012 voorzitter van de VVD Soest/Soesterberg., lid van de kandidaatsstellings- en programmacommissie lid van de partijraad. In het enkele jaren geleden gevormde VVD-bestuur voor Soest, Baarn en Bunschoten was Gerretsen vice-voorzitter. Hans Gerretsen sloot zich vijf jaar geleden aan bij Fred de Leede nadat die opstapte bij Radio Soest, om samen met hem het nieuwe RTV Soest uit te bouwen en met Radio Soest te gaan concurreren. De uitgesproken Soester had het daarbij wel eens aan de stok met De Leede, maar de twee zochten elkaar toch telkens weer op. Voor RTV-Soest door Gerretsen vooral in de politiek, waar hij regelmatig uitzendingen aan wijdde. De Soester had sinds 1982 in Soest een technische handelsonderneming waarmee hij slan- en kabelhaspels voor de industrie importeerde, Gerritsen wordt zaterdag in Amersfoort gecremeerd.
